| Bessie's vital stats 1956 Chevrolet 3200 pick up with a V-8 engine and 4 speed transmission I bought Bessie some time ago in sort-of running condition from a friend who went to Desert Storm and didn't come back. I drove her for quite a while. I say she was sort of running because she had some serious oddities. Among other things, you had to honk the horn to make her headlights come on. I called her Bessie because she obviously had PMS! After some investigation, I discovered that Bessie likely had her original engine but was missing her original transmissions. Like many of the wooden beds, hers was in atrocious shape. Her condition deteriorated mostly due to electrical problems and with much sadness, I quit driving her. She sat for quite awhile, mostly in storage. Finally, having won a serious argument, I took Bessie out of storage and brought her home where I can work on her. Access from my desktop.
